Vet999NE

Vet999NE works in partnership with your own vet to provide the best in veterinary care for your pet. Working from our Sheriffs Highway Hospital, Gateshead near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Vet999NE has a team of vets and nurses available at all times to help you and you pet if emergency care is needed.

With all the facilities of a fully equipped Veterinary Hospital behind them, the professional care and knowledge of the Vet999NE team can be used to best advantage in caring for your pet.

How it works

In an emergency you should telephone your own vets first. If they are not available they will ask you to call Vet999NE.  When you call Vet999NE your call will be answered by one of the nursing staff. They will discuss the emergency with you and may just need to give you advice on how best to look after your pet yourself or they may recommend that you bring your pet straight in to be checked over by a vet.

If you do need to bring your pet to our surgery we will provide all appropriate investigations and treatment.  In many cases you will then return home with your pet. If the animal is very ill, admission to the Hospital may be needed for further investigations and treatment.

Once the patient is stable further investigation and treatment can be carried out wherever is most convenient for you or best for the patient.

Costs

It is more expensive to provide veterinary care during unsocial hours.  Cases seen by Vet999NE will be subject to an out-of-hours surcharge, depending on the time of presentation, in order to cover the costs of providing the service.  Please ask for details.

Methods of payment

Payment is due at the time of treatment, and we are happy to accept cash, debit and most credit cards, and personal cheque supported by a valid cheque guarantee card. We are very happy to treat insured animals and will make direct claims to Pet Plan for sums over £250. Terms of business are clearly displayed at the Sheriffs Highway Veterinary Hospital.
